Health Region is a concept of development that assumes a superior role for health aspects. Its goal is to create a space that is friendly to the health of residents and tourists. This idea is gaining popularity as a tool for creating health tourism destinations and a desirable place to live for residents.

The idea for creating the site came from the implementation of the public task "Pomeranian Health Guide" funded by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism according to agreement no. 2024/0026/2766/UDOT/DT/BP/IS dated 18.06.2024.

Health Region - definition
– ograniczony geograficznie teren z niezanieczyszczonym środowiskiem naturalnym, dobrą infrastrukturą medyczną i turystyczną, ciekawą ofertą kulturową, dobrze wykształconymi i zdrowymi mieszkańcami dzielącymi podobne wartości i kompetencje, którzy są świadomi szerokiego spektrum przejawów zdrowia obejmujących funkcje fizyczne i umysłowe, sferę duchową, jakość życia, zaangażowanie społeczne i codzienną funkcjonalność.
Aby zagwarantować rozwój regionów zdrowia, konieczne jest zaangażowanie na rzecz zdrowia istotnych graczy w regionie, które wyraża się we współpracy, szczególnie w takich obszarach jak edukacja, badania, technologie medyczne, profilaktyka zdrowotna, dostawcy usług medycznych, mieszkańcy, politycy i interesariusze turystyki zdrowotnej.
Health Region – conditions
Region zdrowia określany jest także jako narzędzie do podniesienia atrakcyjności danego miejsca zarówno dla mieszkańców jak i turystów. Może być traktowany jako element przyciągający zainteresowanie międzynarodowych pacjentów, a także jako odpowiedź na niektóre wyzwania związane z liberalizacją rynku ochrony zdrowia.
Among the factors contributing to the development of health regions are: research, education, health prevention, the development of medical technologies, hospitals, primary healthcare, and health tourism.
Health Region – Benefits
- a positive impact on the health of residents and tourists staying in the area,
- creating health regions can be a tool to support the development of health tourism in a given region,
- building the image of a health-conscious destination,
- it can have a beneficial impact on population growth and the level of investment.
